It’s Time to Move from Awareness to Action
There are multiple ways to take part in the #WhatsNext 2025 campaign and help #LeadtheChange in STEM. You can share your anonymous story, add your pledge on social media, or learn directly from women in STEM through our interview series. Each action, big or small, helps build momentum towards safer, more accountable STEM environments.
Together, we can create spaces where safety, dignity, and opportunity are the standard, not the exception.
Real Conversations About Safety, Accountability and Change in STEM
Across STEM, women continue to experience and witness gender-based violence (GBV), harassment, exclusion, and retaliation. To better understand the realities shaping labs, classrooms, and workplaces today, we interviewed women in STEM and asked them to speak candidly about safety, accountability, and the systemic changes still missing in our institutions.
In these interviews, they reflect on the barriers that prevent people from speaking up, the conversations organizations continue to avoid, and the concrete actions that would make STEM safer and more equitable. They also share moments of allyship, the role men must play in ending GBV, and their vision for a future where everyone can learn and work without fear.
Explore their full interviews below and join us in asking #WhatsNext as we continue pushing for systemic change across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
